In May 2007, we chose Spain to spend a week holiday. It was indeed very nice and relaxing!
We flew to Murcia, for 2 days of pottering around at the Intercontinental Mar Menor de Murcia, Torre Pacheco, we enjoyed the restaurant every day, did not go out at all, both swimming pool (indoor and outdoor), Sacha spent his afternoons in the pool while I was trying to read the pile of magazines from the past months, he took golf classes as well.
We then rent a car and drove to the south through Cartagena, Almeria, to Malaga and Estepona
There, we stopped for 3 days at the Crowne Plaza d’Estepona which I highly recommend!!!
We enjoyed ourselves there. There was a nice little chinese restaurant, the atmosphere was very relaxed and friendly, I spent 1/2 day at the spa getting massage from a young lady from York! Sacha spent one full day in the huge pool, pure holidays. We met a nice swiss couple there as well as Scottish people staying in the neighborhood.
We took this opportunity to go to Gibraltar, it is weird to pass the border and find bobbies, pay in pounds, get red phone box, and the monkeys on top of the hill!!
Our goal was to go and visit Granada and l’Alhambra, we will tell you about it in a next post…
