on 17 January 1995, Kobe was hit by a mega earthquake that set the city on fire and destroyed most of the infrastructures, it has been the largest disaster until the 2011 tsunami in Tohoku.
A museum opened a bit outside of the city to regroup souvenirs, it is excellent, very complete, plenty of videos and documents, it has a video room that shows the extent of the disaster and the lost lives
I must say I admire the Kobe people, I know a lot of them have experienced this and yet, no one ever mentions it, and keeps going. how resilient can you be? how much do you keep for yourselves?
